SENIOR FINANCE MANAGER – ASSETS MANAGEMENT
The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, a leading academic health sciences center located on the Texas Gulf Coast, is searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Finance Department. The Senior Finance Manager – Asset Management, is responsible for accurate reporting of capital assets on the institutional financial statements and other related reports, in accordance with GAAP and State reporting requirements and completion of the annual asset inventory per State Property Accounting requirements and timelines.
This position will also ensure that policies, processes and procedures are implemented and maintained to support the internal control environment as well as UTMB, UT System, State and Federal requirements related to the management and reporting of capital and controlled assets; support the institutional budgeting process by forecasting depreciation expense and responding to other requests as necessary; and deliver excellent customer service to a varied customer base including Chief Financial Officers, Department Managers, and Asset Custodians.
Requirements
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (preferably accounting or finance) and six years experience. The preferred candidate will be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). A demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and practices related to capital assets and PeopleSoft or a similar ERP system is desirable. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a cohesive team along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are also needed.
