The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, a leading academic health sciences center located on the Texas Gulf Coast, is searching for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Dean’s Office in the School of Medicine (SOM). The Senior Finance Manager, Strategic Initiatives, will represent the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the School of Medicine on various committees, work collaboratively with departmental administrators, and assist the CFO in the implementation of the vision and goals of the SOM. This position will serve as the Facilities liaison, managing the SOM space planning model, the asset management process, and the capital process. Additional duties include serving as IS liaison, reviewing business plans and making recommendations, and coordinating/tracking benchmarking efforts and performance.
Requirements
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (preferably accounting, finance or general business) and six years experience. The preferred candidate will have a Master’s degree in Business Administration and experience with PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion. Strong knowledge of financial applications and processes, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and project management skills are desirable. The ability to develop, prioritize and accomplish goals; problem-solve effectively; analyze and evaluate data; and make appropriate decisions/recommendations is also needed.
